Blackpool is undergoing a Resilience Revolution…
Life can be a challenge for lots of different reasons, for some more than others. The University of Brighton’s Centre of Resilience for Social Justice, Boingboing, Blackpool Council, Blackpool HeadStart, and other partners are working together on a Resilience Revolution concept. The focus is using resilience approaches to develop new ways of working, and this is being piloted in a test and learn model right across the whole town of Blackpool to support young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
The Blackpool Resilience Revolution invites anybody who lives, works or volunteers in Blackpool to join in and come together to work out how to build a resilient town to grow up, live, work and thrive in.
We want everyone to have the opportunity to learn more about what they can do to overcome life’s challenges and thrive, for themselves and others (building individual and community resilience) …AND we want to challenge and change the things that make life difficult in the first place (reducing inequalities). We call this beating the odds whilst also changing the odds.
Below you will find some resources that have been co-produced as part of the Resilience Revolution, starting with a short video showing how young people describe the Blackpool Resilience Revolution. We will add new resources as they are created, so please check back regularly.
